Loss

In case some of you don't know, we had a bit of an issue with a member last night.
I am posting about this not to gossip, but to ask:

IF YOU LOST ANYTHING THROUGH THE COURSE OF LAST NIGHT'S EVENTS, PLEASE ASK ME IN-GAME AND I WILL GIVE YOU YOUR LOST STUFF BACK.

Anyone who lost anything can ask to get it back and I will give it back, because in the ideal scenario, you wouldn't have lost that 2 obsidian you found or that 26 string from that dungeon, so you deserve it back.

Thanks,

Losing a Nut, Finding a Galleon

Hello players! I'm sad to announce that Moar Biomes 2.0: Iron Style is being delayed for a while, but will be added whenever we have our next map reset.

But, on a lighter note, we're getting Bukkit.

We're getting Bukkit.

However, we're going to stay Vanilla. I'm not gonna add iConomy or ChestShops, I'm adding things that IMPROVE the server, not REVOLUTIONIZE gameplay. I'm going to add Essentials, definitely, and possibly WorldGuard.

Our Bukkit upgrade is scheduled for Saturday, October 27th, 2012.

Have a nice day, most likely made better by this post!

Iron Style

Hello there! I am happy to say that I've finally decided on something, after my inability to choose a server texturepack.

In case you haven't noticed, I removed the "Moar Biomes" page from the pagebar a few days ago. This is because I've chosen an all new world generator, well, not exactly.

I found a program called WorldPainter, which is basically custom map making. Using this custom program, I've devised a new format for our worlds.

This is, Moar Biomes 2.0: Iron Style.

"Moar" information on Iron Style will be provided in page format. And in case your wondering "Iron Style" is a reference to the hit song sensation, "Gangnam Style", it's not. I chose that word because the word "style" was on my brain because I was about to watch "Minecraft Style" before I posted this.

Iron Style is going to consist of a spawn point castle of sorts, as usual, and will contain two exits. One exit will consist of a "Vanilla" area, and another of the "Iron Style" area. This adds "Moar Biomes" hence the phrase, Moar Biomes. The Moar Biomes are is small, and will be bordered by the "Igneous Pillars".

To learn more about the different attributes of "Moar Biomes 2.0: Iron Style", visit the page I am making on it as we speak.

And, on a completely unrelated note, The Iron Network is now on Google+!

Server Texturepack Update

After a quick playtest, the server texturepack idea has been terminated.

For those who still want the texturepack, contact me in-game and I will provide a download link.

I apologize for the inconvience and hope to see you in 1.4 with maybe a custom map!

1.4 Map Reset

Even though I said I would not, I am going to perform a 1.4 map reset and install the remixed Good Morning Craft I have been developing.

I am doing this because it will help us adapt to the new members coming in the foreseeable future, and it helps to get a clean slate sometimes.

Mostly because Shadowbunker_LU mined every single diamond in the whole seed. :P

Anywho, I hope you enjoy the 1.4 map that's coming out soon!

Thanks,

Server Texturepack

We are getting a server texturepack for 1.4! It's a wonderful texturepack that's the set server texturepack, and it doesn't require Optifine or MCpatcher! However, it does take advantage of MCpatcher features like Randomobs, but this isn't required for gameplay.

Disregarding my previous post about GreatWood, we have decided not to use GreatWood for now and instead, use Good Morning Craft! However, the original Good Morning Craft has a bit of gore in it. So, I will be using a remixed Good Morning Craft for the server. Specifics about what has been changed will be posted later.

School

So, school has started for me today. Just to forewarn you, this isn't some elongated, emotional post about how times have changed and I cannot run The Iron Network. :P
Good Stuffs:
-The Iron Network will still be it's normal self
-[Server] will still come on to be annoying and do backups
Bad Stuffs:
-My time on Minecraft will be overall limited, especially limited on:
-Tuesdays
-Thursdays
-Sundays
I'll still try to be on as much as I can and continue to make my players happy people.
(Making you happy includes avoiding a 1.4 map reset :P)

Hope to see you soon,

Mumble Tutorial

In case any of you don't know, we do have a brand-spanking new Mumble server just for us! This Mumble server allows us to log in to a voice chat channel so we can chat through voice together!
And it doesn't slow down your game and was created for gamers, possibly by gamers!

Built-in Microphones WORK with Mumble! You may have a Built-In Microphone and you just haven't realized it. :P

Here's how you can get on the Mumble server:
1st, download the Mumble client, at http://mumble.com
Then, download your client in this little spot. Click the icon that has your operating system.
Available in Windows, Mac and Linux.
Once you've installed the file, go to your applications and open the file named "Mumble". If your on a Mac, you may have gotten a file named Mumble11x. Don't open that, open the normal Mumble. A server list should appear, but this isn't what we want! Close out the server list. A configuration "wizard" should appear, but if it doesn't,  click on "Configure" in the menu bar.
<--- That is the Mumble menu bar on a Mac.

Click on "Configure" in the menu bar, and then click on "Audio Wizard". Follow the directions in the wizard. For Built-In microphone users, you may get a bit of feedback. (kind of like Ambience in Minecraft)That is NORMAL.  Once you've configured your Audio Wizard, you should be ready to use Mumble! When you're ready, click on "Connect" in the "Server" side of the menubar. It should pull up that server list! Minimize the tab labeled "Public Internet" and click on Add New in the bottom right corner.

This is the "Add Server" window in Mumble, shown on a Mac. In case you haven't noticed, everything should appear very similar between Macs and Windows. (I've never used Linux, so Linux users may not find this helpful.) In the label, type in whatever you want The Iron Network's Mumble to appear as in your server list. In address, type in 199.15.234.168. In Port, type in 64744. In username, type in whatever you want for your Mumble server-unique name to be. Then click, "OK." Then when you try to connect, it should prompt you for a password. The password won't be posted publicly on the site. Please ask for the password in-game on Minecraft or via email at my email address, and I will give it to you. Sharing the Mumble server information to allow players who have not been given the password IS AGAINST THE RULES AND WILL BE PUNISHED.

Speaking of rules, our Mumble server has very few rules.
-Have fun
-Be nice
-Keep swearing to a minimum

We may appear to be a bit more relaxed with swearing on Mumble then on the Minecraft server, but we only do this because some times you may let something slip, which is OK. You just can't curse like a sailor. :P

I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and I can't wait to see you guys on Mumble!

Server Issues

After a certain world transfer and maintenance stretch, I went on to survey my works before releasing them to the public. But then, my server crashed!

I'm working this out with my hosting company and  I hope it will be resolved as quickly as possible.

Hopefully I've built up enough hype to keep you guys excited about this. (:P)

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Maintenance Stuff

So, we have maintenance.

But it's all good.

We're adding MOAR BIOMES with LARGER BIOMES!

Large Biomes is a new type of World Generation, added in 1.3. It makes biomes larger.

However, some people may be concerned that the biomes are too large to navigate! However, I can assure you that within map_0, you'll find many biomes to suit you. Enjoy the wonderful tundra, or maybe the sprawling desert, or a classic forest (sporting patches of Truffula trees from 1 to 6) or maybe a calming plains biome!

Right now our maintenance is at about 20%, all I have to do is load it through my world gen and make sure Spawn works.

Please bear with me on this slow process.

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July, all!

I wish I could just post about my wonderful 4th of July, but... :P
Anyway, we had a awesome bonfire, probably some pics will end up on Google+ soon.

The Iron Network is currently down. My host is having some issues on the Texas Node (where T.I.N. is) Most of us haven't been on T.I.N. lately, due to the new BBII Freebuild server which some of us are members of.

For those who don't know, Minecraft 1.3 is steadily approaching, and hopefully T.I.N is steadly approaching open awesomeness!

If there are any ideas on how to bring the buzz of Survival mode excitement and activity back to The Iron Network, please feel free to contact me via a comment on the website, or an email, or a Google+ message, or whatever floats your boat.

Have a nice day,

It's... freaky.
Is it something wrong with me? :P

Server = Awesomeified

The Iron Network is UP AND RUNNING!
Everything is working as expected, no permanent chunk errors or other rubbish. I also have a current backup, so if anything ever happens again, there will be no worries!
@KlementineLU Can you let me know on the status of your house? I don't know where it is, so I couldn't check.

Oh and by the way, have a happy Summer Minecraftians!

Server Down

Some freaky stuff has been happening on my server. The console has been unresponsive, Chunk Errors have turned permanent, and files aren't updating.
Yes, the title is right. The Iron Network is down, and no one is quite happy about it.
I'm working with my server company, and we hope to get it up soon!

We're Back!

Have fun,

Oh Well.

In case you haven't noticed, our world is.. err... different.

There was an issue with this World from the start. There were some chunk misplacements all along, and some errors along the way. Our World has been corrupted. So, basically...

Everything is gone.

I know a lot of you guys are gonna take this pretty hard, but it's a chance for a new start! We can make things better, stronger! We can make a new Iron Network!

Forgiveness. :P

Okay, I forgot to install the warping plugin, sue me. :P

I'll try to get it done THIS WEEKEND, but my server hosting company might take a while with it, so don't blame me. I get Friday off for Battle of Flowers, so I'll start the installation process then ASAP.

Thank you for your time and patience.

Thanks,

Warping Plugin Date: Set!

This weekend I will try to get a warp plugin installed for The Iron Network. My server hosting company will install plugins for us, but it's not lightning fast. If the server is down this weekend, that's probably why. I'll try to get it up ASAP.

If you want an area set as a warp, just ask and I'll set a warp for it.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Website!

The Iron Network now has a website!  :D
I'll aim to include all info and cool screenshots I can manage on here, so if you have any suggestions, please contact me in-game or via email.

In case you haven't heard, there is a warping plugin in the works. If the server is down, that's probably why.

Thanks,
